May 28th, 2022

Doors open on Saturday May 28th and Sunday May 29th: come to learn about the archaeo-enology project and to taste the winery’s wines

Feudo Antico opens its doors to visitors and winelovers by participating for the first time in Cantine Aperte in Abruzzo, the event organized by the regional Wine Tourism Movement scheduled for Saturday, May 28th, and Sunday, May 29th, with more than 40 local wineries participating.

The event will be an opportunity to taste the winery’s wines and learn about this archaeo-enology project set in the heart of Abruzzo: starting at 3 pm on Saturday, May 28th and for the entire duration of the initiative, groups of five will be able to visit the winery and the archaeological areathe site of the Imperial era Roman villa discovered in 2013 during soil preparation work for the first replanting of pecorino. The visit and wine tastings are free to join.

The program also includes a number of masterclasses dedicated to Feudo Antico wines: at 4 pm an exclusive vertical tasting of four vintages of Casadonna Pecorino Terre Aquilane IGPa high-altitude Pecorino that originates between Alto Sangro and the Altopiano delle Cinque Miglia plateau, the result of Feudo Antico’s meeting with the award-winning chef Niko Romito. At 5 pm a tasting of four different expressions of Rosato and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. From 3 pm to 8 pm expert sommeliers will conduct the special tasting of DOCG Tullum wines, for groups of six to eight people. Masterclasses will be followed by the special dinner, a four-courses dinner paired with Feudo Antico wines, in collaboration with Zietta al mercato, a bistrot of Abruzzo chef Fabrizio Sacco.

On Sunday, May 29th, from 10 am to 8 pm, guided tours of the winery, accompanied by tastings, and special tastings will again take place. More masterclasses: at 11 am again the vertical tasting of four vintages of Casadonna Pecorino Terre Aquilane IGP, at 1 pm a tasting of four Pecorino labels aimed at exploring how the same grape variety can express itself differently. Starting at 2 pm, a tasting of four different Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wines. Sunday special event will focus on the pairing of cheeses from Bio Agriturismo Valle Scannese and Feudo Antico wines, from 5 to 6 pm
