Wines in Amphora, the Abruzzo experience

March 18, 2024

The press tour to discover Tullum Docg ended last Friday, during which a number of national journalists came to visit the winery and taste the Docg wines. As part of the two-day event, Feudo Antico organised the conference ‘Vini in Anfora, l’esperienza Abruzzo. The Italian phenomenon, the future of an ancient production method and its development on the international market’. Important national speakers discussed the subject of amphora, from its history to the development of today’s markets: Vittorio Di Carlo, president of Feudo Antico, Professor Attilio Scienza, professor at the University of Milan, Helmut Kocher, president and founder of the Merano Wine Festival, Elena Fucci, producer and owner of the Elena Fucci winery, and Cesare Ricciato of the Tava winery, which produces amphorae. It emerged from the speeches that this wine-making technique, so ancient and at the same time so modern, is making more and more headway both in Italy and in Abruzzo with the production of very interesting wines.
